Christmas Songs Make Me Swing and Sway

Through my years— #music that makes me swing and sway.

Music is a big part of my life. Always has been. I feel the rhythm in my bones. That’s why I share some of my favorites, from time to time; in my Twitter feed @MickieSherwood. The caption is “Through my years— #music that makes me swing and sway.”

Thanks to all the YouTube channels that provided the great selections.

I know the Christmas Season has begun when I hear this first song.

Please Come Home for Christmas – Charles Brown.

You already know I’m a Baby Boomer. So, I’ve rocked & rolled to all varieties of music. Here are a few of my favorite Christmas songs. Some are really oldies but goodies.

This Christmas – Donny Hathaway

All I Want for Christmas Is You – Carla Thomas

This one is a catchy tune. Great for the big straighten up session to get the house ready for extended stay houseguests.

Sleigh Ride – TLC

Get your glass of wine. I’m slowing it down a bit. Pull your favorite chair and that special someone in front of the fireplace. No fireplace? No special someone? No problem. You’ll be just fine. There’s not a thing wrong with enjoying your own company.

White Christmas – The Drifters

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas – The O’Jays

I’ll Be Home for Christmas – The Stylistics

The time has come to bounce while baking. Go for it! This song is Christmas magic.

Merry Christmas Baby – Otis Redding

Hubby smoked a ham on the grill for Pulled Pork. Now, I have to go earn my “Best Food Taster in the World” title.

CHRISTMAS PULLED PORK 640X426

Merry Christmas, Hope, and Peace to all.

Someday at Christmas – Stevie Wonder

MELE KALIKIMAKA a me HAU’OLI MAKAHIKI HOU  !! Thank you for sharing your list. Your number one is mine as well. The first time I heard this was in 1962 and I rushed out and bought it. Couldn’t wait to get home to play it for my dad. As soon as the bells started playing he said “man that Charles Brown 1947!” Wow! And that song has began my Christmas every year since. Thanks!!

    • I’m glad you enjoyed some of my favorite Christmas songs. Charles Brown ruled back in the day. Still does in my family. MELE KALIKIMAKA a me HAU’OLI MAKAHIKI HOU !! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

      Thank you for visiting.
