Amazon Kindle Book Preview Embed Code

I’m an #indieauthor with limited funds.

(What indie person doesn’t have limited funds, huh?) Therefore, I’m my own webmistress. I do extensive research before attempting to make changes on my website. Sometimes, my changes are successful. Sometimes, I make a mess. (That’s when I pull out my hair.) So, here’s a warning. Try adding the Kindle Book Preview at your own risk. Don’t forget to read the TERMS.

I’d previously seen mention of the Kindle Book Preview option. However, I never took the time to investigate. Well, this week, I looked at it. Because I liked what I saw, I incorporated the Amazon Kindle book preview in my blog’s sidebar. I did that for all of my romance novels.

The steps below tell how to find the Kindle book preview embed code.

1) Go to the book page you want to embed.

2) On the right of the screen, in the area under the price, you’ll see the SHARE button. Click the word <Embed> right next to the SHARE button.

3) Choose Embed on your site <HTML>.

4) Choose See More Options if you want to resize the cover for a better fit on your blog. There are also other options  available. You can choose how to Show Book Content and Display Options.

5) Copy and save the code once you’ve made your choices. The code looks like this:

Now, you’re ready to embed the code on your blog. Your readers will enjoy your book cover and a wonderful preview that opens in another browser window. The preview for Templet’s Tasty Tails was nearly four chapters. I consider that a delicious amount to whet the reader’s appetite.

Visitors are able to click to BUY, SHARE, and PREVIEW your masterpiece.

Here’s what the cover looks like in the sidebar on Mickie’s Mutterings. Try the BUY button. I’d appreciate it.

  1. Wow, Mickie, great information. I’d read an article in the Amazon newsletter about this but you gave such better instructions. Thanks so much.
